Experience
In my research on improving user experience through motion design in UI/UX, I've gained valuable insights into UI/UX design and its connection to motion design. I explored the impact of motion design on usability and engagement, focusing on optimizing user experiences. Through literature review, surveys, and interviews, I gathered valuable perspectives and real-world feedback. Survey results revealed a strong representation of younger individuals (18-22 age range), suggesting motion design's appeal to this demographic. Interviews provided firsthand accounts of positive experiences with motion design, enhancing interactivity and visual appeal, as well as mixed experiences where excessive motion design hindered usability. Overall, these experiences shed light on the impact of motion design on user engagement and satisfaction.
Observation
Motion design in website interfaces has the potential to enhance user experience, according to survey results. Respondents recognized its importance in conveying information, influencing emotions, and improving engagement. Specific elements like parallax scrolling and animated transitions were found to be appealing. However, familiarity with motion design varied, suggesting a need for education and awareness. Interviews revealed that the impact of motion design can vary based on factors such as the target audience and website context. Users emphasized the importance of purposeful design that complements content and functionality, as excessive use can be distracting and detrimental to usability. Striking the right balance in implementing motion design is crucial for maximising benefits and creating a positive user experience.
Finding
The survey and interviews showed that motion design should be balanced. It can improve interactivity and user engagement, but too much can be distracting and hinder usability. Purposeful and complementary motion design is important, considering the target audience, website context, and individual preferences. Customization and thoughtful consideration are crucial for creating a positive user experience. The research indicates that motion design can greatly enhance UI/UX design. Logical transitions and meaningful animations make digital products more intuitive and engaging. However, motion design should be used strategically, considering narrative structure, visual explanations, and effective storytelling techniques. Careful consideration is needed to avoid negative effects on usability and overwhelming the user.
